Cremation care is always local and private. Proceeds support the life-saving work of our animal shelter.

Personalized and unique to every family’s needs, our cremation packages are designed to provide you with choices that you can feel comfortable with. We know how important your final moments are with your pet. If you need help or have questions, we are always here.

The return of your pet’s ashes may include an optional memorial service and a PAWbits listing at no cost.

PACKAGES & PRICING

Pre-planning is available with a small deposit to allow weekly or monthly payments.

Payment arrangements can be set up for pre-need only. We partner with Afterpay for immediate need.

Afterpay is a payment service that allows you to make four equal installments on your pet-loss services.

Please let us know if you would like to use Afterpay for your cremation and memorial services.

individual Cremation packages

At Baltimore Humane Society we offer affordable, compassionate, local cremation. Your pet is gently transported to our  cremation facility and returned within 72 hours.

Your pet’s ashes are returned to you in a custom real wood urn with a brass nameplate or engraved metal urn of your choosing.

Transportation is available until 4:00 pm, weekdays, from your home or a vet’s office for an additional fee of $50 to $100 depending on distance. You may drop your pet off during regular Baltimore Humane Society hours.

• Pets less than 3 pounds, $125
• 3-20 pounds, $165
• 20-45 pounds, $195
• 45-100 pounds, $225
• 101-130 pounds, $250
• Pets over 130 pounds, please contact us.

Communal Cremation

Just as there is no wrong or right way to grieve, there is no wrong or right way to say “goodbye” to our loved ones. Not all families require their pets’ ashes be returned to them.

When this is the case, communal or  “shared” or cremation is an option. As the name suggests, in a communal cremation, a group of pets are cremated together and their ashes are inseparable and are not returned to their families. Communally cremated pets’ ashes will be buried on the privately owned, picturesque grounds of our pet crematory in Maryland.

Pets under 25 pounds, $40
Pets between 25 and 100 pounds, $65
Pets more than 100 pounds, please call for pricing.

memorial keepsakes

Ink paw or nose prints: $25. Your pet’s nose or paw print inked onto keepsake cotton paper.

Fur clipping: $15. A small clipping of your pet’s fur returned in a small decorative glass jar.

Clay pawprint or nose print impression: $45.  Your pet’s nose or paw print impressed into clay and then baked into a durable permanent keepsake.

Cremation and Interment

Cremation and Interment package: Includes the Individual Cremation services above and Private Permanent Interment (burial of pet’s urn and ashes) and Funeral Services in our serene, private Memorial Park with a personalized 6 X 6” custom engraved memorial stone for the pet’s resting place.

Many families ask if their own cremated remains can be interred with their pets in our cemetery. Absolutely! Please call or email our director to make arrangements.

Interment of existing cremated remains

Some families keep their pet’s ashes for years until they are “ready” to release them, or are where they plan to permanently reside. As we get older, we worry about what will happen to our pets’ ashes and urns when we ourselves are no longer around to care for them. We welcome your pet’s existing ashes — even those of multiple pets.

We have dedicated sections, such as our beautiful bird sanctuary, specifically set-aside for existing cremated remains.

Our package includes our 6″ X 6″ or 6″ X 12″ custom-engraved memorial stone.
