Thank you for considering a contribution to the Baltimore Humane Society. Founded in 1927 by Mrs. Elsie Seeger Barton, we are an independent, non-profit, no-kill animal shelter, which offers low-cost veterinary care to the public, and a pet cemetery with grief support services. We receive no operational funding from local or federal governments, or any national animal welfare organizations.

We rely heavily on the generosity of caring individuals such as you.  In fact, BHS counts on donations for nearly 60% of our annual operations.

Your donation will move us closer to achieving our mission to not only shelter animals, but also find loving homes for every animal that comes into our care.  We have a commitment at the Baltimore Humane Society, and we know with your support, we will be able to honor it.

Below, you can make a one-time donation, set up a monthly recurring gift plan, sponsor one of our shelter residents, or donate in honor or memory of a beloved pet or person, and you can even set up your own personalized "Ambassador" fundraising page to share with friends, family, and colleagues!

There are also lots of other ways to give your support including car or boat donations, employer matching, gifts of stock, planned giving, and donating items on our wish list. You can even select a variety of ways to honor a lost pet that will simultaneously help the homeless animals here at our no-kill shelter.

Donations can also be mailed to:
1601 Nicodemus Road
Reisterstown, MD 21136

Or you can call our office to make a donation by phone at 410-833-8848 ext. 212.

Thank you for helping save the lives of countless animals!

Do you want to help the animals at the Baltimore Humane Society, but can’t adopt a pet at this time?  Why not Sponsor a Shelter Pet?  You’ll get the joy of knowing your sponsorship is helping to pay for the care of homeless animals while they are here at our shelter.

You’ll receive a photo of your sponsored pet, and your name will be displayed on one of the animal spaces for the length of your sponsorship.

Sponsorship Commitment Levels
Dogs $200/month ($50/week)
Cats $100/month ($25/week)
Rabbits $80/month ($20/week)

Money received from the Sponsor A Shelter Animal program is a charitable donation to the Baltimore Humane Society and is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Please be aware that you are actually sponsoring a run or cage for an animal and the sponsorship fees will be used to offset the expenses of animal care that the shelter incurs. The animal you sponsor may be adopted or transferred to another shelter or rescue organization. If this occurs, the run/cage you have sponsored will be filled with another needy animal. Thank you for your generous contribution!
